What is NDIS and am I eligible for it?

The NDIS or National Disability Insurance Scheme is a way of offering people with a significant or permanent disability in Australia with funding to obtain the necessary support and care to get through their daily life and achieve their goals.
The following are some criteria the NDIA uses to assess your eligibility for and NDIS plan:

  • Age between 7 to 65 (For younger children there is an early intervention program)
  • You hold a protected special category visa, Australian permanent residency or hold Australian Citizenship.
  • Need assistance from another person due to significant or permanent disability.
  • You use a particular equipment related to significant or permanent disability.
